Description: Transfer, storage and transformation of water, energy, and elements, including carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus, silicon, sulfur, mercury and lead in the atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, and biosphere with an emphasis on the impacts from human activities and global change; origin of the universe and isotopes of different elements; origin of the earth and lives on it, including subsequent environmental changes of the earth after the emergence of life; principle of geochemical balance and its application through simple geochemical models.
